It has definetly been an experience since we got to Costa Rica. Not much time to write because the internet is on only a short time during the day. But we are leaving Punta Mona. Aiden has had a temperature off and on througout the whole trip. He has now developed a rash on both sides of his face and his eyes are swollen. He seems fine though, it could be just from the heat. He has lots of energy. He wants down to run around, but here it is either muddy or ants get you. There are wooded floors in most of the buildings so that is good. We have decided to leave Punta Mona tomorrow...Monday. The boat leaves at 7:15.
Our internet does not work in Costa Rica for some reason...there is satellite here.
We don't know what to do next....

I hope you are enjoying your trip. I read up about what could be going on with Aiden. Here is the comment:
"Please give me some more information on Rosiola. I think my son may have contacted Rosiola, he is 10 months old and has a red rash on his trunk and neck. He had a slight fever of 100 this weekend, which I gave him Tylenol for. He now seems to be feeling fine. Please let me know what you think. Thank you, Shawn

It doesn't sound like Roseola. The general picture of Roseola goes like this...
An infant has a high temperature of 102-104 degrees and is very grumpy for 3-4 days. On day 5, the fever suddenly breaks, the rash appears, and the child is back to normal. The rash then disappears in 1-2 days.
Your little one sounds like he had a viral illness and is coming out of it. His fever is considered low grade (viral), and not really high enough to fit into the Roseola diagnosis.
